5/3/2014 – Systemic therapy with the Mphil

The group mid-role play

Today marked my first day of teaching without Jennie, who landed back in the UK this afternoon. She is already sorely missed by the whole Samutthana team, but I think it is safe to say that I will feel her loss the most, as we have worked so closely together over the past two months. I’d like to take this opportunity to offer her a very, very big thank you for all of her hard work here in Sri Lanka.

Today’s teaching session was an introduction to systemic therapy with the Mphil clinical psychology students at the University of Colombo. It was great to work with this enthusiastic group again, and to hear their ideas about how some of the more abstract ideas behind systemic working could be applied within the Sri Lankan context. I look forward to my final teaching session with them next week.
